Political Wrangles Over Kakamega Gubernatorial Seat Commence As Leaders Evoke Each Other

Conflicts and disputes are taking shape in Kakamega County amongst political leaders especially those who have shown interest in the gubernatorial race towards the 2027 general election.

The seat has attracted so far six candidates at the moment including governor Fernandez Barasa who will be looking for his second term.

As many of the residents in Kakamega County request governor Fernandez Barasa with his administration to pull up their socks by focusing on the development record created by former governor Wycliffe Oparanya, they reiterate that the replies from the County boss has been like speaking to a deaf where by Kakamega appears to be stagnating in development record, especially in the health sector where un like the previous administration where pregnant women used to deliver in any levels IV hospital freely alongside being awarded gift’s, the act has changed where by they’re now demanded to cater the service by themselves by paying huge amount of money that some can’t afford.

These challenges has forced the Khwisero member of parliament Hon. Christopher Aseka who’s one of the aspiring gubernatorial candidate, to awaken up and inform the people of Kakamega County, that he’s the only one who can solve the mess created by governor Fernandez Barasa if only they will elect him in 2027.

Similarly, Hon. Aseka and governor Fernandez Barasa appears to be the two horses at the moment who are showing interest for the seat of which the supporter’s of the two haven’t been in good terms.

Consequently, the mentioned MP is demanding the governor to work for the people of Kakamega accordingly without any favours and discrimination.

While at Makhokho boy’s secondary school in Ikolomani Sub County where he joined the area member of parliament Hon. Benard Shinali to Empower the women groups a few days ago, Aseka said that he’s ready to fight for the people of Kakamega County in having good governance, sentiments that were supported by the President’s aide Farouk Kibet who was the chief guest at the moment;

The sentiments of the MP comes a few days ago while in a public function, the Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Wycliffe Oparanya, demanding the leaders in office to do the work they were elected for.

“When in office as the governor of Kakamega I used to work. Theirs no day I paid any amount to an individual to accompany me whenever I could be required to attend a public function”, addressed Wycliffe Oparanya.
