Fesbeth Academy are the champions of drama festivals in the Western region beating other giants from Western Counties of Busia, Bungoma and Vihiga.
While speaking to the Opera News Hub Journalist Daniel Anyanga the head teacher explained that In French Solo Verse, the best student came from Fesbeth out of 18 students while in drama entitled the ” Last session” the school also emerged the champion during competitions that was held in Vihiga County.
The school is taking the two items to the nationals in Nakuru in April.
Similarly, Mr. Anyanga highlighted that not only are they excellent in academic matters but also in talent show-casing and in co- curricular activities such as drama and many other sporting activities such as football games and athletics.
He explained that the championship came due to teamwork with their producers, staff, learners and the school director Ruth Minishi who has been very supportive in terms of funding of the entire programme.
“As you know drama is very expensive especially staging a play.We want to thank the director for such support and similarly given our appreciation to our beloved parents who have always been sustaining us financially”, explained Mr. Anyanga.
Although Fesbeth struggled to move from the lowest levels of those dramas, but in each level they performed well and to the regionals with two items Solo verse and the play.
Solo verse became the First Runners up followed by other teams from other regions.
He congratulated the able children who have persevered training which has been done thoroughly by staff members and hope as they are going to Nakuru at the National levels they expect to even perform better as they look forward to better training and upgrading of the play.
The headmaster urged Kenya Private Schools Association to work with the government expressing that learners from private schools are also learners from the region because when they go in competitions they don’t represent learners from private schools but the entire region.

The school wants to find a way for root support from the government otherwise it becomes very expensive to run the programme alone without any support from the government.” said the Head teacher
Senior teacher administration and Head of co- curricular activities Geofrey Shivachi commended students for participating in drama with support from parents.
Shivachi said have used experts from outside who are not teachers of the school for assistance in arrangements of drama and Solo verse.
“We are hoping that will lead in Nationals, looking at the arrangements learners participating in drama festivals will not close the school for April holiday, will remain behind for further preparations.” Teacher Shivachi emphasized.
The Head of Department for drama and music teacher Stephen Imbali attributed their success to good production from the production team led by the script writer Paul Juma.
Imbali extended his clarion call to parents to allow their children to participate in games as the school management has given them space and time adding that learners by doing that has enabled them have good time to shape the items.
“Parents its not all about class work we are also looking into naturing the learners abilities and potential as the school has given us that opportunity, so kindly allow your learners to take part in co- curricular activities because it will sharpen their thinking and will also build them as a person in general.” Teacher Imbali noted
